Should I use a moving van?
If you are moving or relocating then you have two main choices. Firstly, you can hire a moving company that will do all of the work for you. Alternatively, you can take the do-it-yourself approach and make the move yourself with a moving van rental.
Many of you might be wondering why you would want to take such a big thing as moving into your own hands when someone else can do it for you. The main advantage, of course, is price. Paying a moving company can cost a considerable amount of money, but hiring a truck or van is much cheaper and allows you to take control of the relocation. Hiring a moving van is also very easy and will be available on the day you need it (unlike some moving companies I have used in the past).
Before you make your decision it is a good idea to compare what it would cost for each and decide whether the difference in price is worth it. The disadvantages of using a van are obvious – you have to do all the packing! However, most people actually find that taking control of this helps reduce stress and worry about breakage and items getting lost.
Once you have taken some time to consider the advantages and disadvantages your decision will probably be an easy one.
